Animal Kingdom – Top 5 Quick Service Restaurants

First of all, if you’re from the UK and wondering what a quick service restaurant is, think of it as fast food. Don’t worry they’re not all burgers and fries, its just a place where you go up to the counter to order your food, collect it and then find yourself a table.

Anyway, let’s get on with the Top 5 Quick Service Restaurants in Animal Kingdom:

  1. Satu’li Canteen

Opening in May 2017, the Satu’li Canteen is in the brand new Pandora – The World of Avatar. This quick service restaurant is meant to be an old RDA dining hall but is now a canteen run by the ACE (Alpha Centauri Expaditions). The menu here, is definitely more on the healthy side of theme park food. For entrees (main meal) you can make your own bowl where you choose a protein, grains or vegetables and a sauce or try some of their cheeseburger or vegetable curry pods.

My personal favourite combination is the grilled chicken and the red & sweet potato hash with the creamy herb dressing.

For dessert, they also have a rather strange looking Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse. This, I think that you’ll either love or hate. I, myself, didn’t like it; however, my sister did and finished it off.

  1. Harambe Market

Found in the Africa part of Animal Kingdom the Harambe Market serves African themed street food. The food is again different from what you would expect at your typical theme park but it sure is tasty. My meal of choice is the Tikka Masala Chicken.

If you’re from the UK, you’ll have no doubt had a decent curry, however these are very hard to find in the US. This isn’t exactly a curry as you would get In the UK but is yummy nevertheless.

  1. Yak & Yeti Local Food Café

Since this quick service restaurant is found over in Asia, you’ll probably be able to guess that the food found here has an Asian flare to it. They serve teriyaki beef bowls, egg rolls, fried rice and more.

  1. Eight Spoon Café

The Eight Spoon Café doesn’t actually serve any meals; however, their snacks are certainly the size of one. Even though they’re only serving three different types of Macaroni & Cheese, they’re still worth a visit. You can choose straight up Baked Macaroni & Cheese or have it with either Shrimp and Sweet Chili Sauce or Pulled Pork.

  1. Flame Tree Barbecue

Serving your typical barbecue food of a Pulled Pork Sandwich, Ribs and Chicken, it’s delicious and not a bad choice for lunch. The only down side to eating here is the seating is outdoors, so if you’re there in the summer months you won’t be enjoying your meal in the cool air conditioning.

If you’re not adventurous with your food, a picky eater or just know what you like there are other places to eat. If you fancy some classic fast food, there’s Pizzafari offering, you guessed it, pizza. Alternatively, there’s Restaurantosaurus serving the usual burgers, chicken nuggets and fries.
